Hi! I'm Ali (she/her/hers). Though I'm originally from the Chicago area, I went to college in New England, was an educator through Teach For America in the Mississippi Delta, provided Intensive In-Home Therapy to adolescents and families in Appalachia, and provided out-patient therapy to individuals, couples, and families in the Chicago area. I've been all over the country and worked with people in many different capacities, and the thing that remains consistent is that I love people! I love hearing their stories and helping them navigate their relationships, both with other people and with themselves.

As a former collegiate athlete, I love working with older adolescents and young adults who struggle with sports related anxiety, as well as general anxiety. Since the majority of youth athletes don't go pro, I love working with athletes around identity and the transition from someone who identifies primarily as an athlete to someone who enjoys playing sports, and also has so much more to offer. I also enjoy working with couples around infidelity and communication, and with adult children and their parents. I work well with clients who are interested in learning why they think and act the way that they do, and are interested in learning how to have more agency in their lives. I believe that our relationships influence how people view, conceptualize, and behave in the world, and that having insight into how our relationships affect us can lead to our own behavior change.

I use an integrated, strengths-based, systemic approach to therapy. Through using Cognitive Behavioral, Internal Family Systems, psychoeducation, and mindfulness interventions, I help clients work with their "parts" so they can learn to better manage their anxiety/depression/anger, etc., and to empower them to take control of their thoughts and actions.

I recognize that participating in therapy is an incredibly vulnerable thing to do, and I don't take for granted that I get to help lead clients down such a potentially life altering path. I think asking for help is one of the most courageous things a person can do, and I would be honored to collaborate with you on whatever goals you're pursuing.
